Da Nang to build tourist village for foreigners
The Da Nang People's Committee agreed in principle on a project to build a luxurious eco-tourist village, named Lang Van. The project, that will be invested in by Vinpearl Joint Stock Company, is a tourist complex, including hotels, villas, games and entertainment sections, a golf course, a sports arena, cable cars, a tourist wharf and other public facilities.
Vietnamese service providers win tourism alliance awards
Online Travel Vietnam: Nine tourism and transportation service providers in Vietnam along with 18 companies in Laos and Cambodia have won the Tourism Alliance Awards 2010.The prizes were given late last week during the sixth International Travel Expo in HCMC.
HCMC unveils seven-day Lunar New Year celebration plans
HCMC authorities have announced a seven-day celebration of the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival beginning on January 31. The celebration will have six programmes including the usual decoration of Nguyen Hue Street with flowers and ornamental trees, with this year's theme being New Heights. The aim is to highlight the city's efforts to attain higher economic and social achievements.
World's Most Beautiful Bays
According to VNBusinessNews - Lang Co has officially become the 30th member of the "World's Most Beautiful Bays" club at a ceremony, which was held under the framework of the club's 5th conference in Setubal, Spain from May 15-17. The Vietnamese ambassador to France and Spain, Le Kinh Tai, and the Vice Chairman of Thua Thien- Hue provincial People's Committee, Ngo Hoa, received a membership certificate granted by the club President, Jerome Bignon.
Culture-Tourism Village opens
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has opened the Culture-Tourism Village of Vietnamese ethnic groups at Son Tay District in Hanoi, reports Vietnam. Located on a 1.5ha area in the Dong Mo Commune, Son Tay District in Hanoi, the village is a complex containing traditional Vietnamese houses, cultural centers, entertainment areas, world heritage areas and gardens.
