The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has opened the Culture-Tourism Village of Vietnamese ethnic groups at Son Tay District in Hanoi, reports Vietnam.
Located on a 1.5ha area in the Dong Mo Commune, Son Tay District in Hanoi, the village is a complex containing traditional Vietnamese houses, cultural centers, entertainment areas, world heritage areas and gardens.
The Vietnamese Ethnic Culture-Tourism Village project, approved by the Prime Minister in 2008, aims to be a hub to honor and preserve the cultural value of Vietnam's 54 ethnic minority groups.
The project has completed the first phrase to be ready for the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi. It will be totally completed by 2015.
On the same day, there were a variety of activities including a ceremony for the crafts villages of 54 tribes, a craft exhibition, and cultural exchanges between ethnic groups.
